This condition is not a very common disease, and is usually found in women over 50 years old. Most cases of the disease tend to evolve from the squamous epithelium. The Human Papilloma Virus is associated with the disease. The condition is usually visible and needs to be biopsied. Cancer of the vulva may also have accompanying viruses such as lichen sclerosus and especially HPV.
